Kim Goes Back-to-Back at Brutal Riverview Showdown
EASTON, PA — The conditions were unforgiving and the leaderboard proved it. Riverview Country Club greeted Weekenders members with soft, soaked fairways and a cold, relentless wind that made club selection a gamble on every shot.
Despite the adversity, Jae Kim showed no signs of cooling off, carding a gritty 75 (+3) to secure his second consecutive victory to open the 2025 season. While others struggled to stay afloat, Kim’s steady play—highlighted by crucial pars on the closing stretch—put him six strokes clear of the field.
Every shot felt like a guess, it was one of those days where you take what the course gives you—and pray the wind doesn’t take it back.
Jeff Matvienko put up the closest challenge, finishing at 81 (+9), but even he wasn’t immune to Riverview’s bite. The back nine proved especially brutal, with most players limping in above bogey golf.
The average score for the round was a humbling 87.5, a testament to just how tough the track played. Even single-digit handicaps were left scratching their heads—and occasionally reaching into their bag for another ball.
As the season heats up, all eyes will be on Kim to see if he can continue his run of form. For the rest of the field, redemption awaits... but so do more Sunday mornings like this one.
